Cat Vaccinations

 

 

Tiger, Lightning, and Pounce

 

Kittens:

 

4 weeks old:

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

7-8 weeks old:

 

*      Comprehensive pediatric exam

 

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

*      Blood test for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), and Feline Bartonella bacteria (Cat Scratch Disease)

 

*      1st Feline Distemper/Calici/Pneumonitis vaccination

 

*      1st Feline Leukemia vaccine

 

*      Start heartworm and flea/tick preventative

 

10-11 weeks

 

*      Brief pediatric Exam

 

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

*      2nd Feline Distemper/Calici/Pneumonitis vaccination

 

*      2nd Feline Leukemia vaccine

 

*      OK to declaw at or after this age

 

 

13-14 weeks

 

*      Brief pediatric exam

 

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

*      3rd Feline Distemper/Calici/Pneumonitis vaccination

 

*      Rabies vaccination (must be at least 12 weeks of age)

 

6 months

 

*      Spay or neuter

 

*      Check for retained baby teeth

 

*      Declaw if desired

 

*      Microchip

 

Adult cats <3 years of age:

 

*      General health exam

 

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

*      Annual Feline Distemper/Calici/Pneumonitis vaccination

 

*      Annual Feline Leukemia vaccine

 

*      Annual Rabies vaccination

 

Adult cats >3 years of age:

 

*      Same as <3 years of age schedule, except, the Feline Distemper, Calici virus, pneumonitis, and the Feline Leukemia vaccinations will be given every other year rather than every year.

 

*      General health exams and stool exams are done every 6 months once a pet reaches 3 years of age.
