Dog Vaccinations

 

 

Puppies:

 

4 weeks old:

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

6-7 weeks old:

*      Comprehensive pediatric exam

 

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

*      Temporary Distemper/Measles vaccination

 

*      Temporary high titer Parvovirus vaccination

 

*      Start heartworm and flea/tick preventative and use year round

 

9-10 weeks old:

*      Brief pediatric exam

 

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

*      1st Distemper/Corona vaccination

 

*      1st Parvovirus vaccination

 

*      1st Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination

 

*      1st Lymes vaccination (if outdoor pet that hunts, hikes, camps, or goes to dog parks)

 

*      1st Leptospira vaccination (if outdoor pet that hunts, hikes, camps, or goes to dog parks)

 

*      Start heartworm and flea/tick preventative if not already done

 

12-13 weeks:

*      Brief pediatric exam

 

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

*      2nd Distemper/Corona vaccination

 

*      2nd Parvovirus vaccination

 

*      2nd Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination

 

*      2nd Lymes vaccination (if outdoor pet that hunts, hikes, camps, or goes to dog parks)

 

*      2nd Leptospira vaccination (if outdoor pet that hunts, hikes, camps, or goes to dog parks)

 

*      Rabies vaccination (must be at least 12 weeks old)

 

15-16 weeks old:

*      Brief pediatric exam

 

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

*      3rd Distemper/Corona vaccination

 

*      3rd Parvovirus vaccination

 

*      Rabies vaccination (must be at least 12 weeks of age) if not already given

 

6 months

*      Spay or neuter

 

*      Check for retained baby teeth

 

*      Microchip

 

Adult Dogs<3 years of age:

*      General health exam

 

*      Stool exam (bring sample)

 

*      Annual Distemper/Corona vaccination

 

*      Annual Parvovirus vaccination

 

*      Annual Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations

 

*      Annual Lymes vaccination (if outdoor pet that hunts, hikes, camps, or goes to dog parks)

 

*      Annual Leptospira vaccination (if outdoor pet that hunts, hikes, camps, or goes to dog parks)

 

*      Annual rabies vaccinations

 

*      Annual heartworm blood test

 

 

Adult Dogs>3 years of age:

*      Same a <3 years of age schedule, except, the Distemper/Corona and Parvovirus vaccinations will be given every other year rather than every year.

 

*      General health exams and stool exams are done every 6 months once a pet reaches 3 years of age
